From one of her neighbor in the community came to know about the project “Socio–economic Empowerment Project (SEEP) that is being implemented by Mandwi in the technical and financial assistance of Penny Appeal (PA). One day she met Mandwi’s staff, shared her problem and shown her interest of vocational training for tailoring as she has been facing economical problem. Finally, she was selected and attended three months tailoring training from 17 February to 16 May 2019 conducted by the project. After the completion of training, she had started her own tailoring with USD $100 investment. In the beginning customers were not trusting her, however, gradually customers were satisfied with her service and number of regular customers increased along with her performance. These days, she has been earning about USD $100 on monthly basis and have a confident that she could increase her income in the days to come as well. From the income, she spent USD $ 1000 to construct her own house for living and tailoring business. It is now in good condition. Good luck! Her father-in-law is also helping her for stitching clothes and she is happy with this appreciated assistance. With her progress, her child and family are too much happy. She has been sending her child to Madarsa for education. In this way, a little bit support from the project, i.e. skill training and seed money brings a significant change in the life of Shajahan. She is thankful to Penny Appeal and Mandwi for providing this opportunity of vocation skill, promoting her small business and developing a confident for being a successful professional tailoring.
