Water Sanitation and Hygiene

Mandwi has been implementing “A shallow tube well installation for safe drinking water project” with the technical and financial assistance from Penny Appeal. To contribute to the goal mainly two specific objectives were set, i.e. 1. To increase access of needy and marginalized people to safe drinking water in the project area and 2. To inform needy and marginalized people about significance of safe drinking water in their life.

Challenges

Through this intervention till date total 4066 needy and marginalized households and 20330 (4066*5 neighbors) accessed to safe usable/drinking water. In addition, total 20330 family members of beneficiaries and 101650 (4066*25 community people per tube well) community people informed about significance of hygiene, hand wash, wastewater management and repair and maintenance of tube well.

Siraha, Parsa, Bara, Mahottari, and Rautahat districts of Madhesh Province, Sindhuli of Bagmati Province, and Kailali of Sudur Paschim Province
