children (two daughters and two sons) lives in Gujra Municipality-9, Biswrampur, Rautahat, Nepal. She was selected as a Group Facilitator and attended in 5-Day TOT organized by Mandwi in coordination with EAI under SAMWOL project (the Sahi Ho! Campaign Follow-up Activities). Just after the training, she conducted 8-week life skill and leadership and family sessions that contains leader and leadership, self-awareness, empathy/sympathy, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion, effective communication and active learning, gender based and women violence, participation of women in local level decision making and planning process, women’s rights, local government resource and services for agriculture and women development, identification of self-networks and plan of action for cooperation, happy family and progressive community.
During the training, her performance was average (by pre/post-test) and conducting mock life skill session. However, after the two-three classes her confidence level increased (observed by field officer and ME focal point). Finally, she successfully conducted 8-week life skill and leadership development with family sessions. Now days she is playing a vital role in terms of coordination with municipalities, leveraging fund and reducing women’s violence as she presented many examples. One-day she and a group member Pachiya Devi Chuadahry was travelling through a local bus to Gaur. Somebody spited her leg. She told him why you are doing that. However, a man again repeated the same thing. After that she and along with a farmer group member, took that person to Shivpur Police Office. The problem was not solved at the Police Office. Finally, they went to another nearby Police Office situated in Garuda, Rautahat where the case was registered and he was taken under the police custody. Likewise, another case facilitated by her that Gujra Municipality was not ready to provide playground for youth in Rangpur, Rautahat. She had started to convince the municipality and for that visited and discussed may times. Finally, Municipality allocated playground for youth. In the same community Mrs Bindu Jaysbal was bitten by her husband and she was going for suicide. In the middle, she became to know. She met with Jaysbal, convinced her and had taken to her house. She kept Jaysbal at her home for 4 days. Further, she met with her husband and family and convinced them. Finally, Jaysbal went to her home and now she is living smoothly. Similarly, Mr Soman Chaudhary is a political leader living in Kathariya Bhabanipur, Rautahat had also left her wife Rina Chaudhary. Rina informed her. Rita Chuadhary took Rina’s husband to Local Police Office where the decision was made and now she is living together.
