Mandwi is implementing this project with the technical and financial assistance from ICIMOD to strengthen community resilience through effective community-based disaster risk management in Lal Bakaiya River, Rautahat district, Madhesh Province, Nepal.

Challenges

– Conducted Community Based Flood Early Warning System scoping workshop.
– Established Community Based Flood Early Warning System in Lal Bakaiya River Basin.
– Capacity of local organizations and local communities to GEDSI sensitive response planning through a series of workshops.
– Conducted training on Community Action for Disaster Response (CADRE)
– Demonstrated flood and fire simulation exercise.
