Fourteen years old Aasmin Khatun, a daughter of Sekh Jahid is living with her mother Fultara Khatun and four family members in Sabgadha-6 of Gaur Municipality of Rautahat district of Province No. 2, Nepal. She attended three months’ computer training organized by Mandwi in financial assistance of Penny Appeal and in coordination with local government under Socio-economic empowerment project implemented in Gaur Municipality. She is studying in eight class with Urdu language.
After completing three months’ computer training under Socio-economic empowerment (SEE) project, Aasmin Khatun started door to door computer service providing that helped to earn about 7000 per month. It further provided insight to her to plan for the further courses in relation to start her own computer shop with photo copy, fax, typing and printing in Gaur Market despite her tradition and culture (Muslim) do not allow her to go outside of home town. Her father is convincing and also ready to send her for her further course and start of her IT business in Major city of Nepal. In addition, she is empowering other girls in the community through encouraging and convincing them about the significance of computer literacy in their daily life during her door to door computer service providing. She is expecting support of computer material and IT goods from governmental or non-governmental organizations as subsidies because she belongs to poor family and her father used to go gulf countries for employment to support her family.
